It's hard to say that The Expanse has come to an end. While the book series concluded with the release of Memory's Legion (a collection of the shorter stories) and the TV series came out in 2022, we've seen more stories from the world in the form of a comic series from BOOM! Studios, Dragon Tooth.

Now, there's another continuation coming: another comic series, titled A Little Death, which is now funding on Kickstarter. The project has since blown past its goal of $50,000, and will run for four issues, picking up where Dragon's Tooth left off. The campaign will end at the end of the month, and the comics are expected to be delivered in November 2026.

For the uninitiated, the TV adaptation came to an end with the events of the sixth book, Babylon's Ashes, which wrapped up most of the storylines. The book series runs for another three books, but with a time jump of three decades, leaving plenty of space for a whole bunch of other adventures for the crew of the Rosinante. Dragon Tooth and this new series sit in that timeframe.

Here's the description:

Discover the missing adventures of the crew of the Rocinante – James Holden, Naomi Nagata, Amos Burton, Bobbie Draper, and Clarissa Mao and the ebbs and flows of the Inners, Belters, and Transport Union… all leading to the rise of the Laconian Empire! And it all begins when Amos, bored of trade talks, decides to blow off a little steam and runs directly into a web of crime and deceit tied directly to him! Now it’s up to him and the crew of the Roci to save the day!

What's fun about this particular adventure is that it'll be co-written by Wes Chatham, who played Amos Burton in the TV series. BOOM! notes that while the series isn't being written by Corey, they've still been involved in guiding the story. Burton will join Andy Diggle (who co-wrote Dragon Tooth, while artist Francesco Pisa will also return.

Backers can get the comic series through a series of tiers: $20 will get you digital editions of the comics, while you can get a slipcased trade paperback edition at the $25 tier. There are other perks the higher you go: a hardcover edition ($50), a complete hardcover collection of all four Expanse comics ($150), and a bunch of others the higher you go.

While The Expanse series is over, fans of both the books and the show are certainly showing that they're around and willing to take in new stories and merch from this world. I'm glad to see it: it's a fun story and I'm eager to see what they come up with next.
