Expanding the story
File under “insta-pledge”

For years, I've charted the history of James S.A. Corey's The Expanse, a nine-book series set a couple of centuries in the future in an inhabited solar system. The books were adapted into a TV series, first on the Syfy channel, and then on Prime Video: I visited the shooting sets a couple of times, and it was a really cool experience.
The TV show came to an end with its sixth season, leaving the last three books unfilmed. It looks as though we're not getting a TV adaptation, but that particular story will continue in the form of a series of comics from BOOM! Comics! The publisher just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund three volumes called The Expanse: Dragon Tooth. This looks like an intruiging project: between Book 6 (Babylon's Ashes) and Book 7 (Persepolis Rising), there's a multi-decade time jump, and this collection of comics will fill in that gap. Backing tiers start at $30 for a starter set, and go up from there with various soft/hard covers, deluxe editions, and so forth. I opted for the $55 level with all three softcovers.
A bit of a crowdfunding disclaimer: this project is already funded, but there can sometimes be production delays, so be warned.
