Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon rounds out its cast

Facebook reminded me recently that shortly after Disney acquired Lucasfilm, Zack Snyder's name had been one of those floated as helming one of the then-upcoming films. That never happened, and last year, after a groundswell of good press surrounding his Justice League cut and his Netflix film Army of the Dead, word broke that he'd reimagined his pitch to be a wholly new story: Rebel Moon, which Netflix had picked up for his next project.

I wrote about this at the the time, weighing some of the pros and cons. He noted that the goal was to put together a "massive IP and a universe that can be built out," and that seems like the type of project that's right up Netflix's alley: a big, feel-good blockbuster that they can endlessly spin off stories from.
